Shilpa Shetty Arrested On Obscenity Charges

A few hours ago, Shilpa Shetty, was on her way to the opening of the Miss Bollywood musicial in Berlin when she was arrested at Mumbai Airport on obscenity charges for her public “kiss” with Richard Gere.
Earlier this year, the Hollywood star caused an outcry when he grabbed Shilpa, swept her backwards and planted a kiss several times on her cheek at an AIDS-awareness event. Conservative Hindus claimed that the pair violated the country’s anti-obscenity laws, prompting crowds to burn posters of the two stars in protest at the kiss.
Shortly after the drama, a court issued a warrant for Gere’s arrest and barred Shilpa from leaving the country. A court later overturned this ruling.
Shilpa said, “I can understand something like this if I’d committed a criminal offense. But what was my offense, when I’m just an actor, going to perform a musical on foreign land.” After hours of questioning, a tearful Shilpa was finally released when officials confirmed that the ban had in fact been overturned.
Hypocritical is the word that comes to mind. Bollywood movies are known for its power of the requisite wet sari dance, where it manages to start pouring down raining the minute they launch into a dance routine that leaves nothing to the imagination, but yet we don’t see anyone labelling that as obscene when really vulgarity in Bollywood is increasingly popular.
Or what about when an on-screen couple lips reach the moment of impact when the scene is quickly cut, yet dry humping and grinding against each other is accepted?
We say it’s high time these people come down from their ivory tower of righteousness and get over this ridiculous cry for attention.

I was so angered when I read this! The double standards of India in whatever they do! I feel sheer disgust having read this. For one, I have always seen dirty suggestive scenes in a lot of bollywood movies where either, the actress is raped or wet in the sari showing not very flattery curves and also where the actor keeps either rubbing, pressing or lying on top of the actress( she with her breasts uncovered most of the time and the stomach or belly shown leaving nothing to the imagination( esp. of small children)! Disturbing and totally sick! I would call it more like tantric sex on creen in full view of children rathan than we in western countries who have a child lock for the TV programmes!!
Why should that country object to anything? Child Rape and child labour should be the most important topics to deal with I should think not mentioning the starvation of the poor!
Baised and out to get some cheap publicity outta Mr. Richard gere by holling-up to the police- station!
Sick think and double-standards will always prevail in India as, the men who have an unhealthy ego(stemming from an inferior complex actually) will also never be far from mama’s boys!!

Wet sarees nipples showing, rape scenes leaving nothing to the imagination(even children as there is no child lock on TVs) rubbing against the actress in sceenes while lyning down , all this including child abuse child rape and sheer povery and coruption should be first seen too”
the cops wanted to show their (manhood? (as they have much left to be desired) by dragging Gere to the police station!
Thats their two piece fame since of late. dtagging big stars be it a gere or bollywood ones!
I’m so sick of they double-standrds(mama’s boys) that I feel compelled to say most Indian men need a western- woman to straighten they ass and act too!
