Aishwarya Rai & Rani Mukherjee: (When) Will The Madness End?

Aishwarya Rai doesn’t come across as someone who’d fly into a jealous rage. No, she always seems so calm and collected. There’s one person, however, who’s guaranteed to bring out the worst in her - Rani Mukherjee!
The rivalry dates back to 2002 when good friend Rani snatched a role that was intended for Aishwarya Rai. Not one to easily forgive, Ash held a grudge against her and ever since the two have maintained a distance.
However, much to her dismay, the Bachchan family have always been captivated by Rani’s charm and her on-screen chemistry with Abhishek is undeniable. A rumored hook-up between the two didn’t go down well with Ash who made sure Rani wasn’t on the guest list for her wedding.
But apparently while shooting for Laga Chunari Mein Daag, Rani and Abhishek renewed their friendship while Ash watched on in jealousy. Every now and then she couldn’t resist passing some truly nasty remarks about Rani’s excessive make-up in some parts of the film.
Now, Rani who is said to be fed up of the imaturity, is contemplating breaking her silence. A source close to the Bollywood babe reveals the only reason “She is maintaining a dignified silence is only because of Amitabhji and Abhishek. She is very fond of them and doesn’t want to hurt them.”
