In her first interview since her hook-up with Ranbir Kapoor, Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone dishes on her latest prey and cleverly dodges questions about former boyfriends Nihar Pandya and Yuvraj Singh.
Deepika on her newly confirmed relationship with Ranbir Kapoor:
“Yes, Ranbir and I are seeing each other. So sorry as the media will not have gossip to write about me anymore”
Deepika on whether the two had secretly been seeing each other:
“No. It wasn’t like that. Whenever Ranbir and I met, the media started speculating. Love is the most beautiful emotion in the world. Why would we hide it if we were in love then? You see, we used to meet often but that was because we were getting to know each other better. After a certain time, we drifted apart because we both got busy with our respective shooting schedules. Today, we realise that we are compatible with each other. So, we have no qualms in telling the world that we are in love.”
Deepika on being more famous for her personal life, than her professional one:
“Initially, it used to disturb my parents a lot. But now, they have realised that it’s a part of my profession. Today, everything is sorted out. Ranbir and my parents know what exactly is happening and they are very happy.”
Deepika on whether she’s still in touch with former boytoy Nihar Pandya?
“Yes. His parents have taken care of me and treated me like family. I am in touch with Nihar and his parents.”
Deepika on what went wrong between her and Yuvraj Singh?
“I don’t want to talk about that. If two people are spending time together and having dinner in a restaurant, why does it make front page news? Aren’t there more important issues in the world? But like I said, my family and I are getting used to all this.”

Ranbir Kapoor better grow eyes in the back of his head, as he’s just confirmed his link-up with the notorious Deepika Padukone. In a candid interview, the Saawariya star opens up about their relationship and even reveals his most guarded secrets.
Ranbir on being linked with a gallery of gorgeous women:
“I think it’s very unfair for the women who are linked so carelessly with me. I can imagine how embarrassing it is for the girl and her family. Me being linked with Sonam Kapoor was inevitable. Every time two newcomers do a film together they’re supposed to be involved. We’ve been friends since childhood. She’s an amazing girl. Anyone would want her as a girlfriend. But we aren’t seeing one another. ”
Ranbir on being linked with Deepika in the past:
“I was. But at that time we were just friendly. We weren’t seeing each other. ”
Ranbir on when the two REALLY got close:
“While we were shooting in Australia for a month for Bachna Ae Haseenon. That’s when we really got to know each other. Then we shot a Pepsi ad together when we returned to Bombay. ”
Ranbir on whether he’s able to be professional with her when the camera is on:
“I know when to switch on and off. When Deepika and I are working together, I focus only my character. Yes, it helps the chemistry when you like your co-star. When you don’t like your co-star, that shows too. ”
Ranbir on Deepika as a person:
“Beyond all the grace and dignity she projects, she’s also very simple and shy. She has simple needs. She’s caring. And she respects her family. I really like that. Also she’s an independent career woman at 22. She’s achieved so much in so little time. I’m extremely proud of her achievements. And I’m so happy to be part of her life. ”
Ranbir on whether the relationship is serious:
“Do I look like a frivolous person to you? But before you ask, we aren’t getting married right away. Let’s see where it goes. And neither are we going to sign films just to be together. She has her career to focus on. I have mine. Coincidentally, we started our careers on the same Friday. We’ve our priorities in place. ”
Ranbir on whether he’s taken her home to mama:
“Oh yes. I tell my mother everything. So there was no way I could be in a serious relationship without my parents knowing. ”

Kingfisher Airlines has signed on Deepika Padukone as its brand ambassador. Dr. Vijay Mallya, Chairman and CEO, of Kingfisher Airlines Limited, just announced her as the new face. While there’s no word on whether she’s pleasing him in other ways, Mallya is certainly pleased with his decision:
“Kingfisher Airlines in the short span of 29 months, has firmly established itself as a market leader while setting new service benchmarks. Deepika Padukone, the Kingfisher Airlines brand ambassador, personifies the brand values of Kingfisher Airlines and what it stands for.” Yawn!
Meanwhile, always the charmer, Preity Zinta has been roped in by another airline – GoAir – as its first brand ambassador. “I’m absolutely delighted and excited to be associated with ‘GoAir’; the airline is colourful, energetic, stylish and full of fun, just like me, and it offers its passengers an experience of a lifetime,” say the dimple-faced actress. “I feel every Indian must experience the pleasures of flying regardless of their economic stature,” says Preity of the low fare airline.”

Maneater Deepika Padukone is being linked to so many different men in Bollywood that we’re having a hard time keeping up in blogland! First it was model Nihar Pandya and actor Ranbir Kapoor, but now the latest man to be bowled over by this sultry actress is none other than Indian cricket captain, Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
Sources say the Indian skipper has his eyes set on the “Om Shanti Om” star and has even asked his journalist friends if they can hook him up with her! When it was made clear that co-star Shahrukh Khan would be attending the Twenty20 cricket match, the determined cricketer ceased the opportunity to personally invite Deepika as well. Days later, in a not-so subtle move, Dhoni asked SRK if he could be part of the special screening of “Om Shanti Om!”
Dhoni, however, may have to get in line as Deepika is busy feeling vice captain Yuraj Singh’s balls! After a night of hard partying, the duo were seen exiting a nightclub over the weekend. According to sources they share a good rapport “if their body language is any indication.”

The new trailer for ‘Om Shanti Om’ has just been released!
The highly anticipated flick, starring Shahrukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Arjun Rampal, and guest appearances by Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukherji,Kajol, Saif Ali Khan, Shilpa Shetty and a star-studded cast of Bollywood’s biggest names opens nationwide on November 9th.
Will we go see it opening night? The film listed as drama/romance is said to be based on reincarnation and we can’t wait to watch it! Judging by the trailer, it looks interesting…and at the very least we can stare at Shahrukh’s abs while munching on popcorn!
