Say what you may, but we think the cricket controversy was the best thing to have happened to Celina Jaitley. The actress has been getting more attention for it than any movie could have gotten her! Celina on being in the news for all the wrong reasons:
“Ya right! Cricket…but trust me, I’m the last person to get into controversies. Where is the time to get into all this frivolous stuff? “

Celina on what really went down:
“They (Pakistani cricketers) indeed passed some comments when I was taking a round accompanied by the Delhi cops. I knew exactly who made those comments; even my make- up man heard it loud and clear. I didn’t want to create a scene and so coolly walked off as if I didn’t hear them. It was shameful and no one stood by me. Forget about my celebrity status, I’m a girl first and every girl deserves respect, irrespective of her social standing.”

Celina on some cricketers’ belief that all Bollywood actresses have a thing for them: 
“Please give me a break! I hardly know any cricketers, and I have been happily single for the last three years. I have better things to do in life than to run after cricketers.”

Some men can be more jealous than women. When Celine Jaitley was invited to perform at the Indian Cricket League’s match between Pakistan and Indian, some cricketers from across the border were nasty little b’s and couldn’t hold their tongues from passing some terrible comments on the former Miss India.

In fact, their remarks were in such ‘poor taste’ Celina prefers to stay mum on them. She did, however, mention hearing: “Move her away, she is spoiling the mood of the entire match,” and “Why does she need such heavy security? Is she Osama Bin Laden?”

She adds: “At first I couldn’t believe where it was coming from. I still want to give them the benefit of the doubt because it’s so hard to believe they could behave this way,” she says with a shudder, recalling how she wanted to rush back to her car and drive away from the nightmare. “But I couldn’t because the security guys wouldn’t let me pass. So I was stuck listening to myself being described in the most colourful language.”
 
While we wouldn’t hesitate shoving their bats where the sun don’t shine, Celina is much more of a lady and refuses to lay the blame on anyone. But she does admit that she recognizes the Pakistani players because she had participated in a TV interview with them for a sports channel.
