We know we aren’t the nicest to Abhishek Bachchan, but we have to cut him some slack, ’cause let’s face it - any man who puts up with Aishwarya’s laugh must really care! Turns out, though, that she not only suffers from painful bouts of giggling episodes, but also has a problem keeping her voice down which tends to get a wee bit embarassing even for her hubby!

Witnesses at the Dusit Thani hotel in Bangkok recently saw Abhishek cringing and requesting his wife to lower her voice as she appeared in high spirits! But Ash, couldn’t be bothered and continued to make an a$$ of herself!

An onlooker recalls: “She continued with her extra-loud self-expression, until Abhishek took her to the lobby and made her sit down there, to calm her down. For a while, things were rather quiet, until Ash suddenly decided to pipe up all over again. She continued arguing at the top of her voice, until Abhishek, sensing that the situation was getting embarrassingly out of control, beckoned his personal security guards and asked them to escort his wife to her room.”

There were recent reports of a smackdown between Abhishek Bachchan and a spot boy on the set of his film ‘Drona’. Apparently when the worker forgot to carry out one of his many orders, Abhi went into diva mode and took to physical abuse. His father, Amitabh, who describes the reports as completely untrue, feels his beloved son is a victim of bad press.

“He does have the ability though to attract incongruous and totally incorrect press,” the 65-year old actor laments in a post on his blog. “There has been absolutely no such incident on set. It is a fabrication of the highest order.”

While it does seem like Abhishek can do nothing right to many media outlets, Mr Bachchan’s attempt to protect his son’s image terribily backfired when he mentioned: “Abhishek does not have the ability to strike a fly.”

We know you meant well dad but, really, how is that going to help his hairband-wearing-pink-loving-action-hero image?! At least reports of a beat down made him seem more macho, whereas daddy’s comment makes him look more sissified than ever!

The fun times in Cannes kicked off Wednesday and Aishwarya Rai was one of the many beautiful women to strut her stuff on the red carpet.

The Cannes Film Festival holds a special place in Ash’s heart. Ever since Devdas was screened there in 2002, Ash has been almost a regular at Cannes. In fact, it was at last year’s festival that the actress made her first major public appearance as junior Mrs Bachchan.

“Last time, I got married just a month before so it was very special to be back here,” says Ash. “It was literally like a reception welcome.”

About a year into married life, the former Miss World says she recommends it.

“I think what’s fantastic is when you have this incredible friendship with your man,” she said. “I think that’s what really holds real, and that’s the best part of us together. I mean of course there’s the love and all of that, but I won’t get into those cliches with all of you.“

Much to the media’s disappoint, pictures of the actress at last year’s event sporting what appeared to be the early stages of a ‘baby bump’ were actually showing nothing more than a little ‘bloated belly’. When asked this time about her plans of to start a family, here’s what Ash had to say:

“I’m a normal girl just like anybody else … it will happen when it has to happen,” she said. “It isn’t something that you write in a diary, but when it has to be it will definitely be, and yeah, looking forward to it as and when, but no speculations right now, please.”
