Darsheel Safary may have lost the award for “Best Actor”, but at least he didn’t go home empty handed. The bunny-toothed actor was smiles from ear to ear when he won the Best Actor in the critics’ choice category for his performance in Taare Zameen Par.

Darsheel had the audience in splits and his parents in tears with his acceptance speech before Shahrukh and Saif hoisted him on their shoulders and carried him away, warning him that he’d be dropped on his butt if he ever came back as a grown-up star :)

Congratulations to Shahrukh Khan who won the Filmfare Award as Best Actor for his portrayal of a hockey coach in Chak De! India.

On accepting his award, Shahrukh said: “I have won 13 Filmfare awards before, Mashaallah, and this time my wife, my son and my daughter will all be pleased because they loved this film themselves. They think I acted well. I pray to Allah to give me the strength and the courage, and the talent to do films like Chak De! India.’’

Although he looked rather tired by the end of the night, Shahrukh celebrated his win by partying with Gauri until the wee hours of the morning.

As some of our sharp-eyed readers pointed out, girlfriend needs to lay off the oil based make-up and that fluorescent pink lipstick has go to go pronto!

Was Kareena Kapoor’s Award Rigged? We Think So!

After a night of strutting her stuff (well, the little that’s left of it!), Kareena Kapoor took home the trophy for Best Actress at Saturday night’s 53rd Filmfare Awards.

The painfully thin actress may have knocked us out with her effervescent performance as ‘’Geet’’, but her acting skills were at their finest when she pretended to be taken off guard by her award which was conveniently handed out by Saif Ali Khan.

“I didn’t need to open that envelope to tell who would win,’’ quipped Saif after announcing the winner. After throwing her arms around her beau and thanking him, Kareena recited her well-rehearsed speech:

“I need to thank a few people like director Imtiaz Ali, my co-star Shahid for giving me strength, my family, and Saif for giving me this award and making my night so special,’’ she said.

Ugh. With the rubbish they attempt to pull off on impressionable viewers, can you blame us for being convinced that most Bollywood awards are nothing but popularity contests?!

The music of Ajay Devgan’s ‘U Me Aur Hum’ (You, me and we) was launched on the eve of Valentine’s Day at ‘The Club’ in Andheri, Mumbai.

His always charming wife and co-star Kajol made a striking entrance in a midriff revealing black sheer sari while Ajay’s accessory of the night was his daughter hanging onto his neck!

Said Ajay of his Valentine gift to Kajol; “Love isn’t about the gifts you give or receive. You may give ten thousand things to somebody, and yet not love that person enough and fool her by your generosity. ”

He added, “I believe that the little things I do for my family, I do out of love. That’s my gift to them,” as Kajol chimed in “What we try and celebrate every single day is not the You or the Me. It’s the Hum!”

One-On-One With Darsheel Safary

January 02, 08 by Ballz Bollywood!

Nine-year-old Darsheel Safary won our hearts with his heartwarming performance and disarming bucktoothed smile in Taare Zameen Par. Now, with award buzz already surrounding his cinematic debut, the little charmer sat down for an interview with the Times of India:

On whether he has a girlfriend: “I don’t talk about my personal life. I don’t have any girlfriends and even if I did, I would not have liked to talk about them.”

On being a party animal: “When we were shooting, we would party till late in the night. But not with the bad things that people have. We only had cold drinks at our party.”
On how he loves to shake his booty:  “I have been learning dance from Shiamak Davar and have even won many prizes.”

On seeing himself on the big screen: “I like it. It feels very nice. To tell you frankly, I don’t like to see myself cry. That’s the reason I don’t like any rona-dhona films.”

On his tricks on set: I would do the weirdest things with glycerin. I used to apply a portion in my eyes and then eat the rest! It’s really tasty because it is full of sugar.”

On his favourite actor:  “I love Hrithik Roshan. He’s the best actor, the best dancer and he has the best body in the world.”

On future plans: “I would love to play Harry Potter and have Aamir as Dumbledore. But my bunny teeth won’t work.”
