With Kareena Kapoor’s career on the upswing, it seems like sister Karisma is feeling a bit left out and wants some attention of her own now. 

The once famous actress has stayed out of the spotlight since her wedding to businessman Sanjay Kapoor. But with her sisters face splashed on billboards and every magazine across the country, Karisma is looking to regain her crown as the more skinnier popular of the two. 

She’s been looking at scripts and has supposedly signed up for the Hindi remake of a Tamil film, June R, by South director Revathi Varma.

Her insecurity could stem from the fact that her marriage has long been crumbling. While she was still hot, Karisma had moved to Delhi and taken a complete break from Bollywood to be with her man. However things soured between the two, after Karisma started getting a bit too bossy and demanded that Sanjay move to Mumbai on a permanent basis.

Although things have improved between the couple, the actress has made Mumbai her and daughter, Samaira’s base while Sanjay reportedly visits them from time to time.

Coincidentally (or not), June R tells the tale of a special bond between a mother and a daughter. 
 

Sanjay Dutt is seeking to annul his brief marriage to Manyata, citing technical reasons, as the cause behind his decision.

The actor, on bail for illegal weapons possession, tied the knot with former starlet Manyata Dilnawaz Shaikh in a secret ceremony at a Goan beach resort and a few days later held a traditional Hindu wedding in Mumbai.

But their nuptials immediately ran into problems, with a man claiming to be Manyata’s husband saying the pair had never been divorced and that they had a two-year-old son staying with the starlet’s mother.

Neither Sanjay, who has been married twice before, nor Manyata, had filed proof of their divorces before holding the marriage ceremony in the former Portuguese colony, contravening local laws.

“Sanjay Dutt and Manyata on Wednesday filed a joint declaration… stating they do not desire to solemnise their marriage under the Portuguese civil code, 1867,” said an official, quoting from an affidavit filed by the couple.

While we feel for Sanjay whose string of bad luck seems to go on, we can’t help but wonder if his family has reasonable reasons for being dead against their relationship.

Sanjay’s sisters, however, may want to wait on bringing out the champagne as word on the street is that the couple intends to remarry – this time making sure to get it all right!

Darsheel Safary may have lost the award for “Best Actor”, but at least he didn’t go home empty handed. The bunny-toothed actor was smiles from ear to ear when he won the Best Actor in the critics’ choice category for his performance in Taare Zameen Par.

Darsheel had the audience in splits and his parents in tears with his acceptance speech before Shahrukh and Saif hoisted him on their shoulders and carried him away, warning him that he’d be dropped on his butt if he ever came back as a grown-up star

Congratulations to Shahrukh Khan who won the Filmfare Award as Best Actor for his portrayal of a hockey coach in Chak De! India.

On accepting his award, Shahrukh said: “I have won 13 Filmfare awards before, Mashaallah, and this time my wife, my son and my daughter will all be pleased because they loved this film themselves. They think I acted well. I pray to Allah to give me the strength and the courage, and the talent to do films like Chak De! India.’’

Although he looked rather tired by the end of the night, Shahrukh celebrated his win by partying with Gauri until the wee hours of the morning.
