Bollywood’s own princess, Aishwarya Rai will star in a film about the Taj Mahal, India’s famous marble monument to love.
British actor Ben Kingsley, who is co-producing the movie, had his eyes set on Ash and convinced her she was perfect for the part during the filming of “The Last Legion.”
The Taj Mahal was built by crazed Emperor Shah Jahan between 1632 and 1654 for his favorite wife, Mumtaz Mahal. Soon after its completion, Shah Jahan was deposed by his son and imprisoned at the nearby Agra Fort.
Kingsley, famous for his Oscar-winning role as “Gandhi,” will himself play the role of the Mogul Emperor in the flick.
Filming is said to begin next year in the northern Indian city of Agra, which is home to the Taj Mahal.

Bipasha Basu wants concerned fans to know to know that, despite reports to the contrary, she and John Abraham are very much together…they just can’t stand being around each other! "We’ve more than enough time together. While we’re in Mumbai, we are always together after shooting," whines Bipasha. "And while we’re on separate outdoor locations the time we get to spend away from each other is very important for our relationship. We can’t be together constantly."
Right on the heels of infidelity reports, Bipasha goes on to reveal that John and she are discussing marriage. "But not right away. There’s still time."

A few hours ago, Shilpa Shetty, was on her way to the opening of the Miss Bollywood musicial in Berlin when she was arrested at Mumbai Airport on obscenity charges for her public “kiss” with Richard Gere.
Earlier this year, the Hollywood star caused an outcry when he grabbed Shilpa, swept her backwards and planted a kiss several times on her cheek at an AIDS-awareness event. Conservative Hindus claimed that the pair violated the country’s anti-obscenity laws, prompting crowds to burn posters of the two stars in protest at the kiss.
Shortly after the drama, a court issued a warrant for Gere’s arrest and barred Shilpa from leaving the country. A court later overturned this ruling.
Shilpa said, “I can understand something like this if I’d committed a criminal offense. But what was my offense, when I’m just an actor, going to perform a musical on foreign land.” After hours of questioning, a tearful Shilpa was finally released when officials confirmed that the ban had in fact been overturned.
Hypocritical is the word that comes to mind. Bollywood movies are known for its power of the requisite wet sari dance, where it manages to start pouring down raining the minute they launch into a dance routine that leaves nothing to the imagination, but yet we don’t see anyone labelling that as obscene when really vulgarity in Bollywood is increasingly popular.
Or what about when an on-screen couple lips reach the moment of impact when the scene is quickly cut, yet dry humping and grinding against each other is accepted?
We say it’s high time these people come down from their ivory tower of righteousness and get over this ridiculous cry for attention.

Aishwarya Rai and her hubby-of-five-months Abhishek Bachchan were spotted taking a stroll through the streets of Boston on Monday afternoon.
Abhi repotedly took some time off fliming for his new movie ‘Drona’ to surprise his beautiful wife in Boston while she wraps up filming ‘Pink Panther 2’ alongside Andy Garcia and Steve Martin.
The event would have been extremely romantic if it weren’t for Mama Rai, Vrinda, who tagged along with the inseparable couple.

Kareena Kapoor has added fuel to rumors that her relationship with Shahid Kapoor is on the rocks after celebrating her 27th birthday with Shahid no where in sight. The two-timing actress brought in her birthday on the set of ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’ along with the launch of the music of ‘Jab We Met.’ While boyfriend Shahid was noticeably absent, waiting outside was none other than Saif Ali Khan.
He did not attend the event, but immediately after the show, he picked up Kareena from the venue and they drove off together in his car. A source says “Saif waited in his car for nearly two hours till Bebo finished the event, after which they left together.” The rumored duo headed to designer Aki Narula’s home where a small get together was held for Kareena.
Guests included Dino Morea, Amrita Arora, Usman Afzal and sister Karisma Kapoor.
